Far Eastern University (FEU) is among the best 200 companies in the Asia-Pacific region, according to Forbes Asia.
“These 200 companies were selected from a universe of more than 20,000 publicly traded companies,” said Forbes Asia.
More important to FEU as it approaches its centennial founding anniversary is the recognition of its efforts for environment, sustainability, and governance (ESG).
“This list features companies with a track record of long-term sustainable performance across a variety of metrics,” said Forbes Asia. “The companies on this unranked list were selected based on a composite score using measures such as debt, sales and earnings-per-share growth over both the recent fiscal one- and three- year periods, and the strongest one- and five- year average return of equity.”
The recognition by Forbes Asia comes as FEU continues to operate transparently and shows ESG in Philippine universities and stakeholder-relations.
“Aside from quantitative criteria, qualitative screens were applied as well, such as excluding companies with serious government issues, questionable accounting practices, environmental concerns, management problems or legal troubles in recent years,” said Forbes Asia.
In four years, FEU turns 100 but now affirms what Forbes Asia describes as “strong domestic demand, supported by an uptick in infrastructure spending and global trade, powered by the region’s growth in 2023.”
